AMHERST, NY (WIVB) - U.B. vs. B.U.  Bulls vs. Bears.  Upstart program looking for an upset against a major conference, BCS team.  The Bulls (1-0) travel to Waco, TX to face the Bears (1-0).  Its a major step up in competition from U.B.'s opener, a 31-0 win over Rhode Island.

While Baylor plays in the high-powered Big XII conference. they have not been to a bowl game in 15 years and were picked to finish last in the Big XII's South division.

Bulls head coach Jeff Quinn admits he's curious to see how his team stacks up against a solid team that plays Texas football.

"That's why we schedule these non-league games against quality opponents," said Quinn, "so our kids have an opportunity to be tested and challenged to competetive greatness."

Baylor won their season opener, beating Sam Houston State 34-3.  They features Robert Griffin III, a dual threat who's among the nation's top athletic quarterbacks.  He missed most of last season with a knee injury.  But two years ago, Griffin ran for over 800 yards while throwing for over 2000.

He will test a Bulls defense that earned the school's first shutout since 2001.

Notes:  The Bulls are looking for their first 2-0 start since 1983...This is the second straight season that the Bulls have played in Texas.  Last year, they beat UTEP in El Paso...Eight Bulls players come from Texas.  Receiver Terrell Jackson is from nearby Temple, and expects to have over 100 friends and family at the game...The Bulls quick strike offense averaged 1:03 on their four touchdown drives.
