WNY produces two NFL GM's in two days

Telesco, Caldwell both St. Francis grads

In a span of two days, a pair of Western New York natives have joined the elite ranks of NFL General Managers. Tom Telesco is the new GM of the Chargers, while David Caldwell will serve as Jacksonville's GM.

San Diego introduced Telesco today. The Hamburg native spent the majority of his career with the Colts, working his way up the ranks since 1998.

"I think really the one thing is you’ve got to have a philosophy and you have to stick to it," said Telesco, about how he approaches the GM position. "There’s so much that goes on day-to-day, adversity that goes on, the ups and downs, that you’ve got to kind of stay to your core values."

Like Telesco, Caldwell is a St. Francis High School graduate. He takes over the Jaguars after developing a strong reputation for his work in the Falcons front office.

"There are no bad GM opportunities in the NFL, but to work on behalf of a dynamic owner in a rabid football city like Jacksonville is truly special," said Caldwell.
