Weeks later, evacuation goes on for NYC residents

NEW YORK (AP) - Residents of a New York City apartment complex are still trying to get back into their homes, nearly a month after they had to evacuate due to damage caused by Tropical Storm Irene.
The episode is playing out at the Villa Charlotte Bronte, a striking, castle-like place that sits on the edge of a cliff high above the Hudson River in the Bronx.
The New York Times reports (http://nyti.ms/nmBqTx ) that part of the cliff collapsed after the storm roared through, raising questions about whether the villa's foundations had been endangered.
The residents of five apartments who left in a rush still haven't been allowed to return.
The newspaper says there is no timetable yet for finishing the safety evaluation and getting people back home.
