WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) - Winter weather caused a 50 car pile-up on Interstate-64 westbound, near Williamsburg late Wednesday morning. White-out conditions caused the pile-up, which continues to affect traffic.

Police reopened all lanes on I-64 westbound Wednesday afternoon. It took crews several hours to clear all the vehicles involved in the massive crash.

State Police told WAVY.com, seven people were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters on the scene say this is one of  the worst accidents they've ever seen.

The crash happened right in front of WAVY News 10's Lori Crouch. She has been at the scene of the accident all day and will bring you the very latest in a live report tonight on WAVY News 10 beginning at 5 p.m. and right here on WAVY.com.
