MELBOURNE BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities in Florida say a man struck a woman during a fight over the Casey Anthony trial.

Melbourne Beach police arrived at the city's pier Saturday after a fight broke out. They say the suspect, 42-year-old Robert Hakimoglu, jumped into a lagoon to elude police.

Sgt. Rick Dovale says an argument started as he and others discussed the trial of Anthony, who was found not guilty last week in her daughter's death. Dovale says Hakimoglu started fighting with others and hit a woman during the fight.

According to officers, Hakimoglu agreed with the jury's decision and said he wanted to meet Anthony and "maybe have kids with her."

Hakimoglu was later arrested at his parent's home and charged with resisting arrest without violence, battery and an alcohol ordinance violation.
