PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (CNN/WAWS) - A woman's quick thinking helped her escape from her sinking smart car, just seconds before it fully submerged underground.
Madaline Keeble says she drove through what looked like a water main break and didn't realize how saturated the ground was under it.
“I saw some water on the road, and I saw the security officer in his car at the corner,” said Keeble. “And I made my turn, and 20 seconds later I had water in my Smart car up to my ears"
Keeble says her little Smart car quickly filled up with water, and that's when she grabbed her belongings and ran away.
