BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A polar bear cub from Alaska is on his way to the Buffalo Zoo.
UPS will deliver Kali to handlers at the zoo on Wednesday. Kali will be joining Luna, a female polar bear cub who has become one of the zoo's largest attractions over the last few months. The zoo plans to slowly bring the pair together.
Buffalo Zoo PR Coordinator Rachel Gottlieb explained, "The introduction process will happen slowly. They will be in cages near each other and then as the keepers feel appropriate they'll give them exposure to each other and see how they react. They just both really love playing, so we know that Luna just loves to play and we're excited she'll have somebody to wrestle with."
The zoo hopes to have the bears ready for visitors by June 1st.
