BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - On Friday in Washington, thousands of people marched to mark 40 years since "Roe vs. Wade" legalized abortion.
In Buffalo, Bishop Richard Malone criticized new proposals for New York to allow third-trimester abortions and require hospitals to provide them, even Catholic hospitals.
"It would threaten the ability of Catholic hospitals and other institutions, health care institutions, if those hospitals were to refuse to do those procedures, which we would refuse to do, and it would force us to close down," Bishop Malone said.
He says the new rules would also relax existing parental notification requirements in New York State.
