BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - It was a steamy night for a run, but more than 1,000 runners stepped off in the 33rd annual Buffalo Subaru Chase Friday night.
Runners were reminded to drink plenty of water and take it easy to beat the heat. The four-mile race winds through the Elmwood Village and attracts some of the top athletes from around the world.
Race director Jim Nowicki said, "We have people coming in from six countries: Russia, Ukraine, Yugoslavia, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Morocco."
The top winners split a prize of more than $10,000. There was also a post-race party that followed with live music.
