BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Local leaders and community members received an update on innerharbor development in the queen city.
The Canal Side Project would serve as a new downtown center,featuring a Bass Pro Shop location at the former Aud site. Thedistrict would also showcase the waterfront, along with marketplaces and restaurants. Congressman Brian Higgins says the projectcouldn't move forward until big government stepped aside.
"A lot of these projects were languishing because they would bestuck on some bureaucrat's desk in Albany and it wouldn't bemoving. That's changed," said Higgins.
The New York Power Authority has pledged $105 million to helppay for the Canal Side Project in Buffalo.
