ST. CATHERINES, ONT. (WIVB) - Niagara Regional police have seized more than $1 million worth of marijuana from a home in St. Catharines.
The force's Guns, Gangs and Grows Unit searched a Martindale Road home finding 1,187 marijuana plants and more than two kilograms of processed marijuana.
Police also seized $20,000 worth of growing equipment and nearly $2,000 in cash.
This seizure led to the discovery of another grow operation in Lincoln. More than 250 marijuana plants and $10,000 in growing equipment were seized at that location.
Andrew Bews, 37, and Shannon Holditch, 30, are charged with production of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.
