AUBURN, NY - A former Genesee County nurse who is a person of interest in the death of his girlfriend, has pleaded guilty to drug charges in Cayuga County.
David McNamara, 34 worked as a nurse in Batavia and Le Roy and is named as a suspect in the strangulation death of his former girlfriend in Auburn. He was ordered to serve a five year prison term in a plea deal.
McNamara's plea deal is in relation to a nine-count indictiment for forgery and criminal sale of a controlled substance.
His former girlfriend, Katie Socci, 29, of Auburn was reported missing and her body was found in a shallow grave shortly afterward. Socci and McNamara had a toddler daughter who is now in custody of the mother's parents.
McNamara faces charges in three counties with various drug counts related to his forging prescriptions.
