OTTAWA, ONT. (WIVB) - Notorious Canadian serial killer Paul Bernardo is reportedly looking for new digs at a medium security prison.
Sun Media is reporting that Bernardo is looking to transfer to a medium security prison in Bath, Ontario. He is currently held in the a maximum security facility, Kingston Penitentiary which is slated to be closed.
Bernardo, who is now 48, was convicted in 1995 in the murders of teenagers Kristen French, Tammy Homolka and Leslie Mahaffy. The Scarborough, Ont., native and his wife Karla Homolka, terrorized the Niagara Region with a spree of killings and sex attacks before being arrested.
The medium security facility has such amenities as bicycles and mini -golf. Prison officials are saying there are no plans to move this prisoner at the present.
