AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - An alert gas station clerk spotted a man putting on a ski mask Wednesday night in Amherst. Now a 34-year-old Williamsville man is facing charges.
Amherst Police say the clerk spotted the man outside of the Mobil at 5300 Main Street. The clerk went into a rear office, locked the door and called Amherst Police. Police say the suspect fled the scene before they arrived. After a brief investigation, the suspect was apprehended behind Starbucks on Main Street.
The man is charged with burglary, attempted robbery, menacing and obstructing governmental administration. Police did not release the suspect’s name.
