BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police say when they tried to stop a driver for cutting through a parking lot, she took off, but didn't get far before crashing into a mobile home.
Troopers on patrol on the Town of Batavia saw a vehicle cutting through the Arrowmart parking lot and initiated a traffic stop. Authorities say when 19-year-old Cailee Neiss of Byron saw the lights in her rearview mirror, she hit the gas, turning recklessly onto Gas Lite Lane where she hit a mobile home.
Neiss was arrested for numerous vehicle and traffic infractions, including reckless driving and avoiding a traffic control device.
A passenger in her vehicle, 23-year-old Nickolas Sutherland of Bryon, was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Both are due back in court at a later date.
