PELHAM, Ala. (AP Modified) - WIAT Birmingham says they have confirmed that one victim killed in a triple shooting Sunday is the brother of Marcell Dareus, of the Buffalo Bills. Nineteen-year-old Simeon Gilmore was killed in a Birmingham suburb.
The Associated Press reports: Police in the Birmingham suburb of Pelham say a Shelby County man is charged with capital murder and burglary in a shooting that left three people dead.
Authorities said 20-year-old Jon Staggs Jr. of Pelham is being held in the triple slaying, which occurred Sunday afternoon in a subdivision south of Birmingham.
Police identify the dead as 19-year-old Simeon Gilmore of Birmingham; 22-year-old Joshua Smith of Pelham and 22-year-old Casey Cumberland of Helena.
Investigators say all three men were shot to death. They haven't release a possible motive.
Court records aren't yet available online to show whether Staggs is represented by a defense lawyer. Police say they don't believe anyone else was involved in the killings.
