CARROLLTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies in Cattaraugus County had a busy weekend making DWI arrests.
Beginning Friday morning through Sunday night, authorities charged five people with driving while intoxicated, and two of those now facing charges have prior DWI convictions.
At 1:30 a.m. Friday on Rt. 417 in the Town of Carrollton, deputies pulled over John Belleville of Bradford, PA for speeding. Belleville's license is suspended and deputies say he was intoxicated. The 46-year-old was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI, third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, speeding, and failing to maintain lane.
Deputies' next arrest came Saturday morning around 3 a.m., when Tonya Hutchison was taken into custody after being stopped on Rt. 417 in the Town of Great Valley. Authorities say the 33-year-old Salamanca woman was speeding and driving on the shoulder of the road, and her license had expired. Hutchison was arrested and charged with DWI, speeding, unlicensed operation, failing to maintain lane, and because she tried to pull away while being taken into custody, she was also charged with resisting arrest.
Saturday night at 11 p.m., deputies arrested a 50-year-old Niagara Falls man for allegedly operating an ATV while intoxicated. Charles Haseley was operating the four-wheeler on Bryant Hill Road in the Town of Franklinville. Authorities say the machine had no insurance, no registration, and Haseley had an open container of beer with him. He was arrested and charged with DWI, consuming alcohol on a motor vehicle, operating an ATV on a highway, no helmet, and operating an unregistered and uninsured ATV.
Bryce Caya was arrested Sunday around 3 a.m. when deputies pulled him over on Rt. 417 in the Town of Carrollton. Authorities say Caya was driving erratically and there were multiple open containers of alcohol in his vehicle. Caya's license had already been revoked due to a prior DWI conviction. He was arrested and charged with felony DWI, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to keep right, and parking on pavement. He was additionally arraigned on a warrant out of family court and taken to the Cattaraugus County Jail on $3,500 bail.
And lastly, just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, deputies arrested Robert Clark of Allegany for DWI. Authorities say Clark was driving on the shoulder of Union Valley Road in Olean and had a headlight out on his vehicle. Clark was allegedly intoxicated and his license had been revoked due to a prior DWI conviction. The 56-year-old was arrested and charged with DWI, first degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failing to maintain lane, unlicensed operation, inadequate headlights, and consumption of alcohol in a motor vehicle.
