GAINESVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Wyoming County Sheriff's Office reports deputies busted a large underage drinking party in the Town of Gainesville over the weekend.
Deputies say they learned of the party on Cotton Road on Saturday after stopping vehicles coming from the residence. As authorities neared the scene around 1:30 a.m., attendees fled on foot. But 36 were apprehended by deputies, and of those caught, 31 were found to be under the age of 21. All of those under the age of 21 were released to sober drivers.
Deputies arrested 21-year-old Wyatt Bush and say he was responsible for throwing the party. Bush has been charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child.
Matthew Giuseppetti, 18, of Livonia was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, unlawful possession of an alcoholic beverage by a person under the age of 21, second degree criminal impersonation and sixth degree conspiracy.
Deputies say Giuseppetti lied about his identity to try and avoid violating his probation. For attempting to help his friend fool the sheriff's office, 19-year-old Chaselin Koomen of Geneseo was also charged with sixth degree conspiracy.
Giuseppetti was taken to the Wyoming County Jail without bail. Koomen and Bush are due back in court at a later date.
