HANOVER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Deputies say a drunk driver went off the road and onto a lawn and then put it in reverse, backing up and going across the roadway, directly into a ditch.
The crash happened Saturday around 5 p.m. on Dennison Road in the Town of Hanover. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says Thomas Cuccia of Fredonia failed to negotiate a left hand turn onto King Road and drove onto a lawn.
The 60-year-old then placed his vehicle in reverse, backing across the roadway and into a ditch.
Deputies arrested Cuccia and charged him with DWI.
