WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Speeding past a state trooper in a marked patrol car made it easy for authorities to arrest a drunk driver on the I-90 in the Town of West Seneca.
State Police were on patrol Saturday shortly before midnight when a trooper in a marked vehicle was passed by a female driver in a gold Honda traveling 74 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The trooper pulled the driver over, who was identified as 49-year-old Maria Vandermeer of Orchard Park.
After failing field sobriety tests, Vandermeer was placed under arrest for DWI. She had a BAC reading of .16 percent, police say.
