AUBURN, NY - A man who is no stranger to run-ins with the law in Genesee County has been reportedly named a suspect in the murder of his ex-girlfriend in Auburn.
The Auburn Citizen reports that David F. McNamara, 34, who lived in Le Roy and Batavia, was taken into custody Wednesday night on a probation violation.
Police report that McNamara is "their person of interest" in the disappearance and death of Katie Socci, 29.
Socci disappeared from her home in Auburn Tuesday night. Her body was found in a shallow grave Wednesday afternoon.
Socci worked for the surgical intensive care unit at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
McNamara was also a nurse. While living in Batavia in 2007, he was censured by the New York State Office of Professional Disciplines for withdrawing narcotics for personal use.
He was charged with withdrawing prescription drugs for his own personal use.
