JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Jamestown man has been charged with possessing more than 50 cartons of untaxed cigarettes.
On Tuesday morning, Jamestown police worked with New York State police and other officials to execute a search warrant on Forest Ave. They had been investigating the sale of illegal cigarettes.
Inside a residence, police say they found the cartons, as well as several thousands of dollars in cash.
Steven Patterson, 46, was subsequently charged with criminal tax fraud and possession of unstamped/untaxed cigarettes.
He was jailed pending an arraignment.
