MEDINA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A six-month investigation culminated with the arrest of a Carlton man by the Orleans County Major Felony Crime Task Force on Tuesday.
Jackie Sponaugle, Jr. has been charged with two counts of third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of fifth degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and three counts of fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Authorities say the 22-year-old was responsible for sales of narcotic pills in the Village of Medina, including in or near school grounds. He's being held in the Orleans County Jail on $20,000 bail.
Also announced Tuesday was the arrest of a Medina woman. Gale Morehouse was charged with third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Morehouse was arrested through a separate investigation on August 21. The 51-year-old was taken to the Orleans County Jail on $10,000 bail.
