NEWFANE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Months after the Bank of America in Newfane was robbed, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office has caught up to the bandit.
Deputies arrested James Marquette Williams of Lockport on Friday. The sheriff's office says the 31-year-old has already confessed to the crime and accepted a plea of third degree attempted robbery.
Last January, Williams entered the bank disguised with white tape on his face and sunglasses. After handing a note to a teller, he fled with an undetermined amount of cash. Schools in the area were temporarily locked down.
Williams will be sentenced in October.
