MARILLA, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police say a man was injured after being attacked by Jake Bystrak of Marilla, who was angry the victim was dating his sister.
Troopers say the 19-year-old approached the victim at a home on Williston Road in Marilla on September 30, and during the confrontation, struck the victim in the face, breaking the victim's orbital bone. Police say Bystrak also smashed the victim's cell phone.
Authorities caught up to Bystrak last Friday and arrested him. He is charged with third degree assault and fourth degree criminal mischief.
Bystrak is due back in court at a later date.
