ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - A home in Orchard Park sustained heavy damage after police say a drunk driver slammed into it around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Witnesses say the driver of the vehicle, Patrick O'Neil of Hamburg, was speeding down South Abbott Road when he drove through the T-intersection at Armor Duells Road, hitting a sign, a rock and then crashing into a home on Armor Duells Road. The 35-year-old was extricated from his vehicle and taken to ECMC for minor injuries.
Orchard Park Police say O'Neil refused a blood test. He has been charged with DWI and failing to stop at a stop sign. Further charges are pending as the investigation continues.
The town building inspector is assessing the damage done to the home. Police say none of the occupants were injured.
