CAMBRIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 33-year-old Lockport man is accused of driving intoxicated with three children in his vehicle, including a 7-year-old, 5-year-old, and 1-year-old.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office was called to Saunders Settlement Road in the Town of Cambria around noon Friday. Deputies say Eric Heiman was traveling westbound when his vehicle drifted off the roadway and continued onward before crashing into an earthen embankment and coming to a rest.
The three children were evaluated but uninjured. Heiman was taken to East Niagara Hospital in Lockport, where deputies later arrested him on charges of felony DWI by drugs under Leandra's Law, endangering the welfare of a child, and speeding.
Heiman is due back in court next month.
