ARKWRIGHT, N.Y. (WIVB) - While being taken into custody on larceny charges, authorities say a southern tier man fought with and spit on deputies.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office was called to an address on Route 83 in the Town of Arkwright Tuesday night. Deputies found 45-year-old Steven Riley of Forestville still on the scene. While taking Riley into custody for larceny, authorities say he fought with deputies and spit on them.
Riley was arrested and charged with petit larceny, fourth degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, second degree obstructing governmental administration, second degree harassment and unlawful possession of marijuana.
After being arraigned, he was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
