ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Buffalo man was arrested Thursday night after State Police found a plastic shopping bag containing numerous kinds of prescription pills in his vehicle.
Troopers stopped Stanley Kubiak around 8:20 p.m. on Rt. 219 near Armor Duells Road in Orchard Park for having a taillight out. Authorities say Kubiak's vehicle had a strong odor of marijuana, and the 24-year-old admitted he had marijuana stashed on the floor of the vehicle behind the passenger seat.
When troopers went to locate the marijuana, they also found a large plastic shopping bag filled with prescription pills. Kubiak claimed the medications, including Hydrocodone, Dronabinol, Opana, Valium, Ambien, Carisprodol/Soma and Prednisone, belonged to his father, who died in 2011.
Kubiak was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance not in the original container.
He's due back in court at a later date.
