WESTERN NEW YORK, (WIVB) - A Mexican citizen faces up to five years behind bars for a scam he pulled at a local store.
Federal prosecutors say the man used the self check-out station at a Home Depot store in WNY to make away with an expensive sink for less than what it cost.
Investigators say 36-year-old Luis Vasquez left the store with the item costing more than $444 after scanning the bar code for a sink costing less than $60 dollars.
He would later apparently return the merchandise for store credit cards.
