LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 20-year-old man is facing additional charges over a two-car crash on Upper Mountain Road in Lewiston on Sunday that killed his 18-year-old passenger.
Police say Skyler Zephier was driving an SUV around 11 a.m. when he crashed into a car, and both vehicles went off the roadway. The driver of the car had a leg injury, and Zephier's passenger, Brett McKee, was killed.
Authorities say Zephier fled the scene, but State Police later caught him and charged him with DWI.
On Tuesday, the 20-year-old was additionally charged with second degree vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, unlicensed operation, and other vehicle and traffic violations.
After being arraigned, he was taken to the Niagara County Jail.
