NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - Niagara Falls has had its share of theft and vandalism in the Department of Public Works this year. So far the department has seen six golf carts, $7,500 worth of tools and car parts and $435 in parking ramp tolls are reported missing.
The Niagara-Gazette reports that the department has racked up $31,135 in losses this year. Although, four of the six golf carts were recovered, two of them destroyed by fire..
The golf carts are worth about $5,800 a piece.
Police reportedly chased a suspect who was trying to get away with a golf cart on Porter Road in August, but the man fled away on foot.
