BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man who traded food stamps for cash at the Buffalo store where he worked will spend the next 15 months in federal prison.
Riyadh Almadrahi of Lackawanna pleaded guilty to food stamp fraud. The 35-year-old took part in a scam at Zip's Food and Beverage on Niagara Street in Buffalo that saw around $140,000 stolen from taxpayers.
On top of a prison term, Almadrahi will have to pay restitution.
A second man who took part in the scam was sentenced to eight months home confinement.
