BATAVIA, N.Y. (WIVB) - An investigation spanning two counties and involving the Buffalo office of the FBI has ended in the arrest of a level 3 registered sex offender.
The authorities say the probe involved the abuse of numerous children in the City of Batavia, Genesee County and Niagara County. Many of the charges stem from incidents that happened more than a decade ago.
Sean M. Vickers was arrested by Batavia City Police in Geneva, N.Y. on Monday, April 22. He is a resident of Geneva but formerly lived in Batavia.
Vickers is charged with criminal sexual contact against a child and sodomy. Bail was set at $500,000.
Lawmen say the investigation into Vickers is ongoing and anybody with information that might assist investigators are asked to call (585) 343-5000.
