LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - One suspect has been arrested who may be connected to multiple home burglaries in two different towns.
Authorities believe the same person has been burglarizing homes in Albion and Lockport. The suspect or suspects enter the home through open doors and windows while the residents are asleep inside and steal valuables such as electronics and cash.
Late Thursday night, Lockport Police tracked Jonathan Banks to a home in the Town of Tonawanda. Kenmore and Buffalo police assisted in arresting the 23-year-old Medina resident.
Police say Banks is responsible for the September 5th burglary of a residence on High Street in Lockport. The resident woke up while the burglary was happening around 5:20 a.m. Banks allegedly gained access to the home through a window.
For now, Banks is charged with second degree burglary and petit larceny. But if he is connected to the other burglaries in Lockport and Albion, he could be facing more charges.
It is also possible more arrests will be made in connection to this case.
