CATTARAGUS COUNTY, NY (WIVB) - State and Federal authorities believe someone tried to sabotage an Amtrack passenger train that passes through the Cattaragus reservation.
The NY State police and the FBI want to know who place two railroad ties across CSX railroad tracks earlier this week.
No one was hurt, but an Amtrak train traveling through the reservation had damage to it's air lines.
"There's going to be actually a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anybody who, the individual or individuals who placed these railroad ties on the tracks," said FBI spokesman Earl Gould.
A sign on a train bridge in the area reads "No mail, no rail", a reference to the PACT Act, a new federal law banning cigarette sellers from shipping tobacco products through the mail.
