Just a few hours later, along Route 5 in Hamburg, a motorcycle cuts off a driver who had a dash camera rolling.
Rick said, "I could feel the impact of the collision. He slightly scraped my vehicle and he wound up taking off about 75- to 80-MPH."
Rick followed the motorcyclist for a few minutes, and you can see the motorcyclist dangerously weaving in between vehicles. Rick then happened to flag down a Hamburg Police officer right as the motorcyclist was stopped at the light at Route 5 and Big Tree.
"As soon as he put his lights on, the bicyclist took off and he was at a high rate of speed, so fast that the officer couldn't catch up with him," Rick said.
Rich drives with a dash camera rolling all the time.
"Last year I was involved in three vehicle accidents that were not my fault. So it prompted me to get a dash-cam so I could prove my point," Rick explained.
After filing a police report, Rick contacted News 4.
"Being a hit-and-run, now I'm going to have to pay $250 for a deductible out of my insurance costs, out-of-pocket expenses, and the potential that he might do this to someone else, injure or kill someone," Rick said.
If you recognize that motorcyclist who damaged Rick's vehicle and then sped away from police, call Hamburg Police at 649-3800.
