AMHERST, N.Y. (RELEASE) - Late Tuesday night, Amherst Police responded to a report of a deceased child on Greengage Circle.
The child had been discovered by family members. Upon arrival, officers located the 8-year-old female deceased in the house. The child's mother was also found by officers on the property in an unresponsive condition. She was transported to the Erie County Medical Center.
The matter is being treated as a suspicious death and is under investigation at this time. The cause of death is unknown. The names are not being released at this time pending further investigation and notification of family members.
