BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Voters head to the polls Tuesday and we have a preview of what you can expect on those ballots.
There's a lot for voters to think about before Tuesday and when you get to your polling site, there's even more for some voters in the Queen City, it's the first time using the computerized voting machines.
Erie County Elections Commissioner Dennis Ward said, "This year the entire county, city and suburbs will be voting on the machines."
Ward explains this year's ballot, jam packed with several state and local races. The race for governor takes up a lot of room, also statewide there's two US Senate races, Comptroller and Attorney General.
Ward said, "In western New York in the eight counties we also have an unusual year where we have five state supreme court judges on the ballot, that takes up five more columns."
The remaining columns are for some of the local races.
Ward said, "The print gets smaller as the number of offices gets bigger."
Erie County voters will have to take special note of the highlighted section on the front which refers you to the back of the ballot and the highly controversial proposition of downsizing the legislature.
Ward said, "That's the instructions, we hope that the folks will read them and turn them over sure."
