DEPEW, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police raised large red tarps at an accident scene on Transit Road Friday afternoon.
News 4 is told two powerful motorcycles, commonly called "crotch rockets", were heading south on Transit Road in Depew. Around 3:30 p.m., one of the motorcyclists, 21-year-old Eric Fontaine of West Seneca, who recently returned from the military, pulled into the center lane of traffic at high speed and struck a car.
The local native just graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He is the son of Vicki Fontaine of West Seneca and the grandson of Mildred Fontaine of Cheektowaga.
Fontaine was pronounced dead at the scene. There are no reports of any other injuries.
Depew Police are investigating, and are being assisted by Cheektowaga Police.
