GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) - A western New York man is recovering from a snowblower accident that mangled his hand.
Chief Kevin Koch of the Grand Island Fire Company says a 51-year-old man got his hand stuck in the discharge chute of a snowblower he was using Saturday afternoon at his home. Koch says the man had reached in to clear a blockage and his hand became ensnared.
Firefighters had to disengage the snowblower to free the man. They treated him at the scene for traumatic injuries before he was transported to Erie County Medical Center.
