NORTH TONAWANDA - People around Western New York are waking up to find slick, thick ice coating cars.
"You have to warm it up for a bit," said Jerry Short, from Tonawanda.
He is among the many who are braving slippery streets and bone-chilling winds to head out on Sunday morning. He said he had to use some elbow grease to clear off his car but he didn't think traveling was too terrible.
"The roads weren't that bad."
Short says he is longing for some sunshine and spring-like weather.
"This is just -- it's tiring, boring. It's time to get some warmer weather."
