BUFFALO,NY (WIVB) - Two Town of Evans women were arrested by the Erie County Sheriff's Marine Division near Squaw Island when they were observed mixing a preparation of heroin to inject.
Amanda C. Thiel, 22, and Brittney M. Hammond, 21, were arrested around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Marine Patrol Deputies were in the area of Squaw Island in Buffalo when they observed the females mixing a preparation of heroin about to inject the drug into their body with a hypodermic needle. Deputies took both females into custody without incident prior to injection.
Hammond was charged with 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, Loitering in the 1st degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. She was transported to the Erie County Holding Center in lieu of $250 pre-arraignment bail.
Thiel was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and Loitering in the 1st degree and was released on appearance tickets to return to Buffalo city court on July 9th.
