BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo City Mission is sending out a turkey call. They need about 3,000 turkeys to help feed the hungry in WNY this holiday season.
The donations will also benefit the City Mission's "Turkey Express" event, which delivers hot home-cooked meals to the local elderly and shut-ins.
Aubrey Calhoun of the City Mission said, "Right now, currently we provide close to between 800 and 900 meals a day, so you can see the importance of why we need turkeys during this time of season."
The mission will be collecting turkeys now through November 18. If you have any questions, organizers hope you'll give them a call at 854-8181.
