BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - For the past 40 years, Theresa Mann has gotten up early in the morning to make sure students in Buffalo arrive safely at school.
On Friday, the popular crossing guard walked her final student to safety. Mann is retiring after four decades on the job.
She says it's been a rewarding experience, but there have been some scary moments.
"I got hit [about] 30 years ago. The guy was making a left hand turn, he kept going, he had no license or anything," she recalled.
Mann has gone above and beyond her duties over the years. She gave out belts and coats to students who needed them.
