LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - New York State is helping out the victims of this summer's wicked flooding in Lockport.
Governor Andrew Cuomo was in Niagara County on Thursday to deliver more than $2 million in state aid to homeowners, businesses and renters.
A wild rainstorm spawned flash flooding back in June and turned the city into a virtual lake. Roads, yards and basements were flooded, causing a nightmare for the city.
"The goal here is to not replace what was lost. The goal is to rebuild and make it better than it was before," Governor Cuomo said.
The state came through after the federal government denied assistance. The governor also announced flood aid for Central New York.
