DARIEN CENTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A popular amusement park is opening this weekend in Western New York.
The 2013 season for Darien Lake starts Saturday featuring a newly renovated Waterfront Boardwalk. The Boardwalk, part of the $5.5 million in upgrades to the park, will show off a revamped carousel and Ferris wheel.
Amongst other upgrades include a new Blast Off ride as well as an upgraded Ignite the Night laser light and dancing water show.
The park also has a full-service Anchor Bar restaurant that will serve campers at later hours and "glamping" campsites. Those sites come with a bed, tables, chairs and a canvas tent on a wooden deck.
The park is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
