DARIEN, NY (WIVB) - Darien Lake announced some improvements including a new thrill ride coming to the park for the 2013 season.
The upgrades include a new ride called "Blast Off", which is described as a 185-foot thrill ride that will accelerate riders to the top of a tower. It is supposed to simulate an actual NASA launch.
"Gs will experience the feeling of 4G", said Darien Lakes General Manager Bob Montgomery. "Equivalent to what the astronauts in the Space Shuttle experience. It is a real thrill."
Park officials also plan to upgrade to the nightly Laser Blast show by adding water technology and pyrotechnics.
