SHERIDAN, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police tell News 4 a motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Route 5 in Sheridan late Monday night.
The accident happened sometime after 10 p.m. when troopers say 38-year-old Michael Case of Forestville lost control on Route 5 between Harrington Road and Center Road and hit a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed for more than 4 hours while police investigated.
It's at least the eighth deadly motorcycle crash in western New York since biking season began.
