BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) - Buffalo may be facing some competition from Boston in wooing Delaware North to sign a long term lease to a new headquarters building at Delaware and Chippewa Street.
The Buffalo News reports that Delaware North is looking for some tax incentives before committing to the new 12-story tower and parking ramp.
The project is important because in addition to serving as Delaware North headquarters, the proposed building would be a training facility for Delaware North employees. The company anticipates keeping 350 jobs in Buffalo and creating 65 new ones.
Delaware North which is owned by the Jacobs family, has significant ties to the Boston area which has a significantly larger population and a young educated work force.
